Daniel Wieckmann is an Australian-born filmmaker and content creator specializing in Directing, Cinematography, and Editing.
After completing his Bachelor of Communications (Media) from RMIT (with distinction), he launched the multi-award-winning Melbourne-based video production agency Kintaro Studios (in 2011), facilitating his work with a diverse range of global brands such as; 2XU, Rapha, Dulux, Ogilvy, World Vision, Ford and IBM (to name a few).
As an active member of the Australian Cinematography Society, he has won multiple awards for his commercial Cinematography, including a Gold Award for his work on 2XU CHANGE MAKERS (2021) & a Silver Award for his work on PERSPECTIVES (2018).
In 2020, his work as Editor on the Documentary Television Special FREEMAN (directed by Laurence Billiet) was nominated for an ACTAA for BEST EDITING in a Television Documentary and was the most-watched documentary on Australian Television for that same year.
Continuing his collaboration with Director Laurence Billiet, his work as editor, assistant director, and second-unit cinematographer for General Strike and Matchbox Pictures on THE GIANTS ‘The Extraordinary Story of Bob Brown and The Forest’ premiered at The Adelaide International Film Festival and screened for over 14 weeks across Australian Cinemas nationally.
